The minimum content for a beginner's kayaking course has been established according to the Canoeing and Rowing Federation's basic course content recommendation. The aim is that each course named “Basic Kayaking Course” ensures the same basic competencies as defined in the content recommendation for Paddler1 (Euro Paddle Pass1).
The course instruction focuses on practical training, but also includes some theory. Instruction is conducted using kayaks. The course teaches basic kayaking techniques, as well as how to act in case of capsizing. These – and all learning in general – occur practically.
The theory instruction includes an introduction to different types of kayaking and related equipment. The basic kayaking course includes two teaching sessions in the Oulu delta and virtual learning materials. The practical days are consecutive.
The meeting place is at the Oulu Kayaking Center in Linnansaari. The nearest address is Linnansaari 1.
Note! You will get wet in this training!
The course starts at 5 PM on both days.
